Apple Faces Increased Pressure on Locational Tracking
As details continue to emerge following the revelation that Apple’s iPhone and 3G iPad are collecting and recording locational data of users and storing it on the device, a class action lawsuit has been filed alleging violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, as well as state claims of unfair and deceptive trade practices. Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has asked for a meeting with Apple. Apple has still not made a statement about the security vulnerability, which came to light at an April 20, 2011 locational conference.
