Administration Releases More Details on Privacy Multistakeholder Meeting
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration published a notice with new information about the privacy multistakeholder process. The purpose of the initiative is to implement the White House Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights; the first meeting will focus on mobile applications. The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 12 at the Department of Commerce. However, there will be limited opportunity for those outside of Washington, DC to participate in the "multistakeholder" meeting. In previous comments to the agency, EPIC said that the Administrative Procedure Act, a well established legal framework for soliciting public comment, is a better and more transparent way to produce a meaningful outcome.
